Silicone Paint & Pigment
In my work as a silicone artist - in dolls as well as for television and film, I need a paint and pigments that I know will perform well and give me lifelike results. If you are interested in reading more about the work that I do, awards won, babies created or just generally seeing what I create with these lovely paints and pigments please do visit www.ellamck.com
Below you will find the wonderful Enfis pigments - loved because the "nature colour" range gives true life results when painting for looking with your eyes close up, or on the big screen. I personally use airbrushes on the majority of my projects, and Enfis is so finely milled that I can keep on working without annoying clogs even through my finest needle/nozzle setup.
If you prefer to mix your own colours - the Enfis Essentials gives you high quality fine milled strong pigment dispersions at a low price.
There is also a great series of basic flesh tones to suit doll making, prosthetics and other lifelike art.
I like to use Psycho Paint as my clear base because it adheres so well even to older silicone pieces. It can also be thinned easily for airbrushing or thickened to create impasto effects. On difficult projects, I switch to the PSB25 one part paint base because it stocks so tenatiously when nothing else will do. PSB25 will take standard oil paints to colour, but the Enfis pigments are my preference as I don't like the risk of the colours moving or leaching after time.
I do offer classes for artists making the move to silicone, both in person and online. For more information on that visit www.ellamck.com/classes/ . You will also find a range of silicone blanks on my art site as well.
